SKF Magnetic Bearings in Calgary has an exciting opportunity for a talented
individual to work for a world-class company as our Warehouse/Inventory Lead.
This role is for an organized self-motivated individual that thrives on excellence and comes with a high performing track record managing warehouse/inventory activity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to performing the daily, weekly, monthly and annual inventory routines, processes & improvements and should have the ability to work collaboratively with all departments to achieve the optimum performance in Quality, Cost, Service.
This is an ideal position for a hard-working individual who is interested in playing an active role in advancing and leading our warehouse/inventory flows while developing improvement strategies to support our leading-edge products for the oil & gas, semiconductor, medical and compressor industries.
Responsibilities:
- Organizing and re-stocking materials from receiving into inventory
- Picking materials for scheduled MO’s, re-stocking identified materials for shop floor to maintain stock levels for production (racking, shelving)
- Assist production with picking and packing materials/products as required
- Transportation and put-away for materials/assemblies or products between facility locations
- Conduct annual inventory counts to ensure accurate financial reporting and
- cycle counts throughout the year to maintain stock accuracy and identify discrepancies proactively
- Ability to learn all functions and processes in warehouse/inventory
- Maintain daily inventory transactions, movements to maintain stock accuracy using ERP computer software
- Improve storage, handling, accuracy and flow of inventory through the development of defined work procedures and material flow standards
- Participate in the continuous improvement process, Daily Meetings, analyses and problem solving, dept meetings, 5S
- Effective and safe operation of equipment by adhering to the SKF Production system
- Assist receiving as needed
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate through proper channels as needed
- May perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Safely operate a forklift (following appropriate training)
- Safely operate pallet jack and hand truck
- Conducts all its activities in accordance with the SKF code of conduct, the EHS policy and the group's QMS requirements.

- Education – Post Secondary Education – preferably in Supply Chain or
- Inventory management
- 5 years of experience with proven ability to investigate, analyze and reconcile inventory discrepancies
- 5 years of experience in inventory management/warehouse/distribution environment will be considered an asset
- Previous ERP/MRP experience
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail are required
- Previous distribution/warehouse experience preferred
- Knowledge of computer systems (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
