Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Global Aerospace Director of supply chain portfolio to spearhead a multi-year, business-unit-wide transformation program for our aerospace manufacturing operations. This strategic role will be responsible for designing and leading the execution of a comprehensive review and transformation roadmap that touches all elements of the supply chain portfolio — from procurement through production and customer fulfillment.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in global supply chain strategy, change management and inventory management, with a proven ability to align cross-functional stakeholders, harmonize business processes, and deploy solutions across diverse regions and operational units.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Leadership & Program Management
- Lead the execution of the global Portfolio transformation strategy focusing on inventory performance / optimized levels in alignment with business unit goals.
- Build and manage portfolio deep analysis, driving accountability across multiple workstreams through working with the wider organizations.
- Drive end-to-end initiatives through the complete aerospace BU to align portfolio optimization strategy with roll out plan & tactics from procurement to finished goods.
- Establish supply chain portfolio governance frameworks and reporting structures to ensure timely execution, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Hire and manage portfolio team and relays within aeroengine factories to secure end-to-end alignment, reactivity and drive local initiatives.
Cross-Functional & Cross-Regional Collaboration
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders across procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales & operations planning (S&OP), IT, finance, R&D and commercial teams.
• Drive alignment across global business areas and units to perform portfolio analysis and optimization including:
- Tail end management including phase out life off type decisions,
- ABC/XYZ segmentation analysis to identify priorities for forecastable and non-forecastable items
- Segmentation to optimize manufacturing footprint, minimum order quantity and manufacturing batch size
• Cultivate a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across diverse cultures and organizational structures.
Global Standards & Operating Model Development for optimized portfolio management
• Design and implement a Global Portfolio Supply Chain Playbook that defines standardized processes, KPIs, roles & responsibilities to transform and maintain SKF aerospace Product portfolio.
• Define best practices in supply chain planning, execution, and decision-making processes to drive and maintain excellence portfolio management.
• Lead the development of future-state operating models that secure best costs, OTD, while securing best-in-class NWC and inventory performance.
Digital Enablement & IT Systems Deployment
• Co-Define the SC portfolio roadmap for IT systems and digital tools (e.g., ERP, advanced planning systems, control towers, analytics platforms).
• Ensure system design aligns with standardized processes and business needs.
Data & Analytics Capability Building
• Enable future-proof analytics and decision-support tools to enhance supply chain portfolio management and performance.
Change Management & Organizational Readiness
• Develop and lead change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new ways of working.
• Prepare global teams for supply chain & portfolio transformation through training, communication, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Measure and manage organizational readiness and adoption across key transformation milestones.
Qualifications:
- 10–15+ years of experience in global supply chain leadership roles within complex industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation programs (supply chain, operations, or enterprise-wide).
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, operating models, and value stream mapping.
- Deep understanding of supply chain systems, IT landscapes, and digital enablers.
- Experience in data strategy, data governance, and analytics capability building.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organizational levels and regions.
- Track record of leading change in matrixed, multicultural, and decentralized organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
