Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for functioning as a technical resource in support of sales efforts primarily in Ontario. In this role, the AE will provide technical support and services for our full portfolio of bearings, mounted products, and maintenance products. The AE will also develop new technical solutions and establish technical relationships with customers in order to generate opportunities. Technical support includes application reviews, product selection, installation & maintenance support, troubleshooting, failure analysis, hotline questions and training. Customer interaction will include on-site customer visits, in addition to phone, email and video conferencing.
The successful candidate must work from the SKF Canada office in Scarborough. This position requires the AE to travel approximately 30-50% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support in the areas of product selection, application review, product installation, maintenance, and damage analysis, for both customers and internal personnel
- Develop innovative, high value integrated solutions for targeted customers.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting, failure analysis/bearing inspections, and installation assistance
- Develop opportunities and establish relationships to make SKF the preferred technical partner to OEM and aftermarket customers, by providing best-in-class technical support for all product platforms
- Develop and deliver internal and external training
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or eligibility to obtain such status
- Application experience working in an industrial environment or calling on industrial customers
- Strong hands-on, mechanical aptitude
- Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Proven track record of proactive and continuous improvement within area of responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically
